MCS 830 - On Campus Addendum
For students taking MCS 830 at CUW, June 22-26, 1998
Here's a picture of the happy architects

Ensure you have all of the "standard" material: MCS 830 Module, rev 0397, and the 4 required texts.  You will be using the "electronic workbench" and "80x86 assembly language" software provided at CUW (so you don't need to locate these resources on your own!).

PRIOR TO JUNE 22 (prior to arriving on campus)

1. Complete all Unit I (Framework) assignments (assignments 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5)

2. e-mail or call me with the two problems you selected for assignment 4 (Turing Omnibus).  You will present your solution to the class - so I want to ensure that everyone has a different problem.  First come, first served: if others have already selected your problems, you'll need to select different ones.

3. Thoroughly read through chapter 6 in the primary text Computer Organization and Architecture (COA).

4. Complete as much of Unit II as needed ... note that assignments 6 and 7 will be due Tuesday morning, June 23 and assignments 8 and 9 will be due Wednesday morning, June 24.  So you decide ... if they are done before arriving on campus you'll have more free time in the evening :-)  I'd suggest looking at each problem and outlining a solution which can then be expanded after class discussion.
