S114B – CS Advanced Lab – Languages and Applications (262) 243-4721
This 240 square foot lab houses machines dedicated to advanced usage, especially in Programming Languages and Applications. Windows 2000 and XP Pro machines dominate along with specific peripherals such as scanners, laser/inkjet/photo printers, video capture, memory card readers, CD and DVD burners, etc. The most powerful computers in the CS department can be found here, including the only Intel Xeon based machine. Lab is accessible 24x7 via a push-button combination lock.

S114D – CS Open Access & Instructional Lab
This 750 square foot lab houses 25 Pentium 4 3.0GHz machines running Windows XP and Debian Linux 3.1 dedicated to computer science course usage. A large monitor displays images from the instructor’s machine. A LaserJet 8150dn and HP color Deskjet service this lab. Access to this lab is monitored by the CS department Windows 2000 server Chemnitz. All students enrolled in any computer science course have a login account established on Chemnitz. This lab is available for open access from 7am to 12am (opens at 12noon on Sunday), and is also reservable for CS class use. This lab can be reserved by contacting the Computer Science department.

S118A - CS Computer Museum – Advanced Lab #2
This 440 square foot lab houses terminals connected to the CS department HP9000 “Luther”. Various machines and operating systems from days gone by can be found along with a few token Macs for good measure. Lab is accessible 24x7 via a pushbutton combination lock.

S118B – CS Classroom #1
This 910 square foot classroom is one of two specialized CS classrooms on campus. Besides comfy chairs (=:-O) it contains an instructor’s computer station, an LCD projector (producing an 8' wide image) and two large 36" monitors for class presentations. Equipped with a SoundBalster Live 5.1 sound card in the Instructor Station, movies can be played in Dolby 5.1 Surround. In addition, 10 Custom-built Athlon 2400 PC's (with eye-pleasing 19" CRT's) provide "quick and dirty" computing access during class sessions. Although CS courses have priority in the scheduling of this classroom, it can be used by any course at other times.

S118C – CS Server Room and student worker office (262) 243-4407
This room is shared by the CS department student worker and by the CS department servers: Luther (HP9000 series 827 running HP-UX), Chemnitz (Custom-built Athlon 2800 running Windows 2000 Server; Primary Domain Controller, file and print server), Rheticus (HP Vectra running Windows 2000 Server; Domain Controller, Web Server, and Listserv), Cranach (HP Vectra running Windows 2000 Server; Student Web server; Streaming audio/video server), and Pascal (Compaq Proliant running Slackware Linux 10; CS Linux server).

This area contains reference manuals and supplemental materials for numerous CS courses. This area is a quiet study area. Material may be used anywhere in the Stuenkel CS area, but may not be removed. Another view

S120 – CS Classroom #2
This 640 square foot classroom is one of two specialized CS classrooms on campus. Besides chairs almost as comfy as those in S118B (=:-O) it contains an instructor’s computer station and two large 27" monitors and LCD projector (producing a 5 1/2' wide image) for class presentations. In addition, 10 Pentium 4 1.5Ghz PCs provide "quick and dirty" computing access during class sessions. New in '04-'05 is a rocking 5.1 speaker system to go with the DVD-ROM and SoundBlaster Live in the Instructor Station. A LaserJet 2200 services this classroom. Although CS courses have priority in the scheduling of this classroom, it can be used by any course at other times.
