The TRS 80 Model 100 was not manufactured by Tandy, but was actually made in Japan by a company named Kyocera. All of its built-in programs were written by Microsoft, and a few were written by Bill Gates himself. It ran for up to 20 hours on 4 AA batteries. This model was particularly popular with journalists because of its full-size keyboard and good LCD screen.

Interesting historical fact: the Intel 80C85 CPU was also used in the Mars Pathfinder Sojourner Rover.
